Job summary

Mortenson Construction in Fayetteville, NC seeks an Assistant Project Manager to partner with the Project Manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance. Lead, coach, and mentor project team members.

You will manage cost control, coordinate scopes, draft proposals, administer contracts, supervise subcontractors, and ensure safe, timely project completion. Strong communication and hands-on leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction-related field.
• At least five years of related experience.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management for projects.
• Coordinate project estimate and schedule with Preconstruction.
• Draft client proposals and manage contracts.
• Lead subcontractors and trade partners; manage buyouts and coordination meetings.
• Provide direction to project teams; mentor engineers; develop team skills and performance.
• Ensure on-site project management for small projects with a focus on safety and quality.
