M. A. Mortenson Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager who will partner with the project manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance. Lead, coach, and mentor project team members.

The role includes cost control, financial management, and coordination of scopes of work, with collaboration on estimates and schedules. Requires travel and strong customer service and communication skills to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Ability to assist with complex projects.
• Detail-oriented to manage multiple tasks.
• Understand construction law and business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office and project/web apps skills.
• Professional attitude with strong customer service.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work and review pay apps/changes.
• Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive.
• Draft client proposals and manage subcontractors/suppliers.
• Provide direction to the project team for safe, timely completion.
• Lead meetings and mentor team members.
• Oversee budget and subcontractor buyout.
