Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager in our Data Center Solutions Group to partner with the project manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance. You will also lead, coach, and mentor project team members, with strong communication across staff at all levels in a dynamic environment.

The role focuses on cost control, scheduling, subcontractor management, and successful project completion, while drafting proposals and overseeing contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Detail orientation and knowledge of construction practices.
• Proficient in MS Office, project management tools, and web apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management
• Coordinate project estimates and schedules with Preconstruction
• Review pay applications, change requests, and project financial docs
• Lead subcontractor buyout and manage subcontractors and suppliers
• Direct and mentor project team; ensure safe, timely completion
• Draft client proposals and contract administration
• Oversee budget and vendor relationships
