Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Financial Controls Specialist to apply cost control procedures and analysis across projects while supporting and training project teams in the Project Financial Management system and related software.

Responsibilities include administering cost control functions, producing metrics, and guiding teams to meet budgets and forecasts. Strong Excel skills, ERP experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, BM, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years experience in construction management.
• 3+ years experience with cost management and financial control.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP.
• Strong Excel skills; macro development a plus.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost projections.
• Excellent analytical and detail-oriented with teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer project financial cost control functions.
• Communicate with project teams on PFM training and usage.
• Maintain effective cost control practices per Mortenson policies.
• Produce cost control performance metrics for leadership.
• Help teams meet budgets and forecast goals.
• Support teams with PFM updates and enhancements.
• Provide technical expertise for system releases.
• Test, validate and maintain test plans.
• Prioritize system enhancements to maximize benefit.
• Coordinate enhancements with other groups.
• Recreate and document errors and enhancements.
• Provide communication to operations.
