Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital seeks a Progressive Care (Step down) RN to deliver high-quality nursing care across the care continuum. You will assess patient status, develop care plans, coordinate across departments and ensure a safe healing environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team, leadership in patient care, and adherence to policy. BSN preferred, RN licensure required, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care; ACLS within 6 months).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
