Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem shifts. The RN delivers patient care using the nursing process, coordinated with the interdisciplinary team, and directs patient teaching and care planning.

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, and care coordination across departments, with emphasis on patient safety and adaptable practice to changing conditions.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state where practicing or covered by a compact.
• BSN preferred with 1 year RN experience; new grads ok.
• Per diem availability with scheduling flexibility.
• Basic Life Support required; ACLS/PCCN/CRCN optional.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and plan care.
• Administer medications safely per policies and standards.
• Coordinate care across hospital departments with the care team.
• Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support patients and families, including education and counseling.
