Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Care Unit at St. Charles Hospital. The role supports nurses with basic patient care, monitors vitals, and helps with feeding and grooming.

The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience, strong communication, and a willingness to learn EPIC EHR training may be provided. We offer competitive pay and benefits, with BLS preferred and nursing aide training or equivalent experience required for progression.

Qualifications

• Requires BLS Basic Life Support (preferred)
• Must have completed one of: nursing aide training program OR STNA OR CNA OR nursing program with clinicals OR 1 year of clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assistance with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and employees.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques and encourages independence.
