Job summary

Hack the Hood Inc. in Oakland is seeking a Programs Manager to lead day-to-day implementation of core programs, coordinating cohorts, instructors and resources while building trusting relationships with learners and improving retention.

You will work with Technical Instructors, Teaching Assistants and Career Pathways under the Director of Programs & Partnerships to ensure high-quality, youth-centered experiences and data-driven program improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in youth development, education, workforce development, nonprofit programs or related field.
• Strong relationship-building, facilitation, communication, organization and problem-solving; experience engaging youth.
• Comfort with spreadsheets, databases, tracking outcomes and maintaining accurate records; commitment to racial equity.
• Experience using culturally responsive practices with BIPOC youth.
• Salesforce or CRM experience; Bay Area school/community college partnerships; stipends or paid-to-learn programs.
• Experience with surveys and performance data; trauma-informed or restorative practices.
• A degree or equivalent combination of professional and lived experience is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cohort schedules, launch readiness, staffing, materials, learning labs, workshops, showcases and graduations across in-person, hybrid and virtual programs.
• Partner with Technical Instructors and Teaching Assistants to monitor delivery, troubleshoot issues, maintain milestones and strengthen inclusive, youth-centered experiences.
• Facilitate orientations and nontechnical activities; implement program improvements with the Director of Programs and Partnerships.
• Manage onboarding, eligibility documents, rosters, attendance, milestones and accurate Salesforce records.
• Coordinate stipend documentation and payment requests, equipment, supplies, spaces, events and learner logistics.
• Coordinate outreach and recruitment with schools, community organizations and partners; present at information sessions and events.
• Track enrollment, attendance, retention, completion and satisfaction; prepare cohort updates and ensure warm handoffs to Career Pathways.
