Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Program Support Tech (Education Department) at Bland Correctional Center to provide administrative and programmatic support to the unit and agency mission. You will update and maintain records, files, and automated databases, prepare copies of documentation, email documentation and answer telephone calls.

The candidate must demonstrate data analysis, strong Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel), and data entry into databases.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data to prepare routine reports.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for office support tasks.
Ability to input data into an automated database.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Strong written and oral communication with customers and staff.
Recent experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting.
Ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems.

Responsibilities

Provides administrative and programmatic support to the department in support of the unit and agency mission.
