Job summary

Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a dedicated school program nurse. You will provide direct professional nursing services to students, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response.

You will maintain student health records, comply with IDPH rules, and collaborate with staff and families to ensure health and safety across multiple school programs. The role requires RN or BSN with an Illinois license, CPR certification, and familiarity with school health

Qualifications

RN or BSN with current Illinois license in good standing.
Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
Current CPR/AED certification.
Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Policy and Procedures.
Ability to perform multiple technical tasks and upgrade skills as needed.
Flexible hours to meet school needs.
Strong communication with diverse groups and confidentiality.
Experience in gastrostomy/tracheostomy/seizure care and med administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides direct professional nursing services including medication administration and first aid.
Maintains health records and follows IDPH rules for immunizations and exams.
Coordinates with teachers and parents to support student health and safety.
Performs vision/hearing screenings and refers for follow-up when needed.
Maintains health office operations and supplies; adheres to safety guidelines.
Communicates health concerns to appropriate staff and guardians as required.
