Qualifications

• RN or BSN with Illinois license in good standing.
• Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and Nurse Practice Act.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Policy and Procedures.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
• Flexible hours to meet various school hours and buildings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with gastrostomy tubes, tracheostomy care, seizures, and med administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing services including medication administration and first aid.
• Take temperatures and monitor student health; notify parent/guardian as needed.
• Maintain daily electronic log of student injuries/illness and coordinate with district staff.
• Follow IDPH rules on communicable disease policies and immunizations.
• Coordinate vision/hearing screenings and referrals; assist with health program planning.
• Act as liaison between home and school to support health and wellness.
• Support attendance due to health-related issues and assist with health counseling.
