SD 308 is seeking a dedicated School Program Nurse to provide professional nursing services in district programs, including gastrostomy care, tracheostomy care, seizure management and medication administration. You will work across buildings, using prudent nursing judgment with guidance from the district health director.

The ideal candidate holds an RN or BSN with an active Illinois license, CPR/AED, and knowledge of IDPH rules.

Competenze

• RN or BSN with current Illinois license in good standing.
• Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Policy and Procedures.
• Ability to perform multiple, technical tasks and upgrade skills as needed.
• Flexible hours to meet needs across school hours and buildings.
• Experience with gastrostomy-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, seizure care, meds in students.

Mansioni

• Provide direct professional nursing services including medication administration and first aid.
• Record temperatures and monitor health issues per nursing standards.
• Maintain daily electronic log of student injuries and illnesses.
• Communicate with home and school to support student health and wellness.
• Follow IDPH rules for communicable diseases; notify relevant staff and parents.
• Maintain student health records per immunization and exam requirements.
• Administer daily and PRN medications under district guidelines.
• Educate students on medication use and act as health resource for staff.
• Create confidential list of students' health concerns for staff.
• Contact parents if a student is absent and arrange follow-up when needed.
• Support attendance team; assist with screenings and referrals.
• Coordinate health programs with planning and coverage as needed.
