Job summary

Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a school program nurse to provide direct nursing services in district programs, including gastrostomy-tube care, tracheostomy care, and medication administration, under the direction of the district health services leadership.

The nurse will maintain health records, follow IDPH rules, perform screenings, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support student health and safety across multiple schools.

Qualifications

• RN or BSN with Illinois license in good standing.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Flexibility to meet school-hour needs in different buildings.
• Experience with emergency and safety procedures in schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services, administer medications, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain daily electronic health log and health records.
• Perform vision/hearing screenings and follow IDPH rules.
• Coordinate with health staff and PPST; communicate with families.
• Plan, schedule and cover health-related programs.
• Ensure confidentiality and professional conduct.
