Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition is seeking an Interim Senior Program Manager for the NYC Community Interpreter Bank, a program aimed at increasing trained interpreters and language access for LEP New Yorkers. This temporary role reports to the Director of Community Programming and leads two Program Associates.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, operations oversight, budgeting, and collaboration with partners, government agencies, and communities.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in program management.
• Proven experience in managing interpreter services or similar programs.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and communications skills.
• Strong knowledge of language access laws, policies, and advocacy for language justice is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders with excellent cultural competency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for the NYC CIB with clear goals and alignment to the organization’s mission.
• Oversee daily operations of the NYC CIB, including recruitment, training, dispatch, and supervision of interpreters.
• Manage two Program Associates to support daily operations, training, dispatch, databases, and systems.
• Collaborate with partner organizations, government agencies, and community groups to address language access needs.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Monitor the CIB’s project budget with Finance support.
• Ensure compliance with language access laws and interpreter service standards.
• Prepare quarterly reports on program performance with the Development Team.
• Design and deliver educational components with Membership and Capacity Building teams.
• Establish and maintain relations with community organizations and stakeholders.
• Represent the NYC CIB at events, meetings, and conferences.
• Supervise and develop the performance of the two Program Associates.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Occasionally moves or carries materials weighing 50 pounds or less.
