Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) is seeking a Program Associate to support the NYC Community Interpreter Bank's training program. The role focuses on trainee recruitment, community engagement, and event coordination as the primary contact for prospective and current trainees.

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you will develop outreach strategies to recruit interpreters, engage immigrant communities, and coordinate logistics for trainings and events.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, communications, or program coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders including immigrant communities and grassroots organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills for newsletters, social media, and public events.

Responsibilities

• Lead outreach, recruitment and community engagement to recruit interpreters from immigrant communities in NYC.
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders; represent the Interpreter Bank at events.
• Coordinate trainings, workshops, and other community-facing events; manage logistics and communications.
• Prepare multilingual outreach materials and maintain recruitment/training calendars and records.
• Support visibility of the Interpreter Bank through social media, NYIC website and newsletters.
