Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit in Washington, DC, is seeking a Program Manager for a temporary assignment to support high-impact initiatives and operations.

You will lead coordination of programs, manage timelines, plan meetings and events, engage stakeholders, prepare reports, and help with budget tracking and vendor coordination. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in Washington, DC and opportunities to collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in program management or nonprofit operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Experience coordinating meetings/events and stakeholder groups.
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and execution of multiple programs, projects, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, action items, and stakeholder communications to ensure goals are achieved on schedule.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, committees, conferences, and special events, including logistics, scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, presentations, meeting summaries, correspondence, and other program-related materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation to support program operations and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Assist with budget tracking, invoice processing, expense monitoring, and vendor coordination.
  • Conduct research, gather information, and develop recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support organizational priorities and mission-focused initiatives.

  • Experience within a nonprofit organization, membership association, professional society, trade association, or other mission-driven environment required.
