Job summary

Jericho Project in Manhattan seeks an Assistant Program Director to oversee case management staff and drive a housing-first approach for veterans and at-risk populations. The role reports to the Program Director and carries exempt status with annual compensation in the mid-to-upper $60k range.

The ideal candidate will lead staff, ensure high-quality documentation, and collaborate across agencies to expand services and outcomes. Strong leadership and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services with 3 years of human service delivery experience.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in homelessness, substance abuse, mental health or trauma settings; supervisory/management preferred.
• Superior leadership, critical thinking, written and verbal skills; team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, team-build, coach, and train case management staff.
• Develop staff competencies in client engagement, case management, assessment, service plans, crisis intervention, and referrals.
• Ensure timely completion of case documentation: bi-weekly progress notes, housing stability plans, 90-day recertifications.
• Ensure housing stability plans and goals are implemented and updated.
• Oversee data quality, intakes, caseloads, and discharges in collaboration with leadership.
• Coordinate with HUD VASH, DHS shelter staff, HRA, and VA for referrals and service delivery.
• Promote evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Participate in supervision, trainings, and team meetings; manage timekeeping and reports.
• Assist in recruitment, selection, and orientation of new employees.
• Build team morale and address knowledge gaps; engage in community initiatives.
