Job summary

The Retreat at Hampshire Woods, operated by the Center for Human Development (CHD), seeks a Program Director to lead a five-bed residential and mobile respite service in South Hadley, MA. Oversee clinical and administrative operations, ensuring trauma-informed, person-centered care for adults with mental health or substance use concerns.

Qualifications

• Valid MA License required (LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW).
• Master’s Degree in a human services-related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in behavioral health, mental health, or respite settings.
• Strong background in evidence-based clinical frameworks, crisis management, electronic health records, and community resource navigation.
• Demonstrated ability to foster strong internal and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for residential and mobile respite services.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision of staff.
• Develop and manage program budgets and quality reporting.
• Cultivate partnerships with funding sources and community partners.
• Navigate crisis situations with trauma-informed leadership.
