Job summary

UW Medicine’s Operator Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator, Operator/Teleservices. This role supports 24/7 switchboard operations for UWMC and HMC, coordinating on-call coverage and providing timely information to departments.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, and proficiency with MS Office for reporting and directory maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer the hospital on-call schedule for UWMC and HMC
• Work with department representatives regarding scheduling of the on-call
• Monitor schedules and ensure success of on-call information being up to date
• Provide training to departments on use of the on-call system
• Use MS Office products to maintain directories and prepare reports
• Maintain staff, office, and on-call directories, in the operators Soft Agent system
• Answer and transfer external and internal calls to the main numbers for the UWMC and HMC. Screen calls as necessary to answer questions and determine the nature of the business involved
• Provide paging services using our staff directory and medical on-call schedule
• Monitor and respond to alarms
• Receive and dispatch emergency calls (including Code Blue and other medical emergencies)
