Job summary

UW Medicine on Seattle campuses is seeking a Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher to provide routing and paging services on the 3 pm–11:30 pm shift. You will answer the main switchboards, transfer calls, and connect callers to the appropriate departments, ensuring a patient- and family-centered experience.

You will also dispatch all emergency communications, monitor alarms, and support operations 24/7 with a commitment to accuracy, courtesy, and teamwork in a fast-paced

  • Experience with telephone systems and routing calls is required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and handle emergency calls.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls to main numbers for UWMC and HMC.
  • Transfer external and internal calls and provide visitor information.
  • Receive and dispatch emergency calls including trauma codes and code blue.
  • Paging services for patients and staff; monitor alarms and respond to alerts.
