Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Program Coordinator to support cardiac, heart failure, and open-heart programs through management of clinical registry data, data abstraction, data entry, validation, analysis, reporting, and program performance improvement support.

This role collaborates with physicians, leadership, nursing, quality, and operations to identify trends, support morbidity and mortality review, and prepare reports for leadership and committees, including CMS/ODH/TJC survey

Qualifications

  • Work experience in healthcare and experience in deployment of process improvement required.
  • Understanding of Performance Improvement principles and tactics required along with a working knowledge of metrics.
  • Experience with cardiac or clinical registries (ACC/NCDR preferred) and regulatory survey support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cardiac registries (e.g., ACC/NCDR) and support data abstraction, data entry, validation, analysis, reporting, and program performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with physicians, program leadership, nursing, quality, and operations to identify trends and support morbidity and mortality review.
  • Prepare reports for leadership and committees; support CMS, ODH, The Joint Commission survey readiness and registry-based performance initiatives.

Job Description:

Cardiac Registry & Cardiac Quality Programs Coordinatorssupport cardiac, heart failure, and open-heart programs throughmanagement of clinical registry data, data abstraction, data entry,validation, analysis, reporting, and program performanceimprovement support. This position is responsible for theintegrity, timeliness, and accuracy of assigned cardiac clinicalregistries, including data submission, audit readiness, andfollow-up related to internal and external reportingrequirements.

This role works collaboratively with physicians, programleadership, nursing, quality, and operational departments toidentify trends, support morbidity and mortality review, assistwith registry-based and quality-based performance improvementactivities, and prepare reports for leadership and committees. Theposition also supports survey and accreditation readiness relatedto assigned program areas, including applicable requirements ofCenters of Medicare and Medicaid CMS, the Ohio Department of Health(ODH), The Joint Commission (TJC), and specialty program reportingframeworks as applicable. This role additionally manages cardiacclinical registries (e.g., ACC/NCDR), supports Morbidity &Mortality (M&M) review processes, and provides dataabstraction, analysis, American Heart Association - Get with theGuidelines, and survey support for ODH and The Joint Commission.The position sits within Quality Management and supports CoreMeasures and registry-based performance improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Work experience in healthcare and experience in deployment ofprocess improvement required. Experience with cardiac or clinicalregistries (ACC/NCDR preferred) and regulatory surveysupport.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an Associates/ bachelor's degree preferably withstudies in business sciences, health sciences, statistics,industrial engineering, health informatics or related fields.Applicable experience in lieu of education may be taken intoconsideration.
