Purpose

We are currently hiring a Regular Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse, ONC (RN) to support the UPMC Passavant Medical Oncology network team/office located in McCandless/Pittsburgh, PA. This position offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus and involves a Daylight schedule, Monday through Friday, as a Treatment/Infusion Nurse caring for medical oncology patients. The role includes triage responsibilities as needed.

Role Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for setting standards for care quality, managing patient care activities, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, supervision, and establishing collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes. The nurse demonstrates a commitment to community and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in quality improvement efforts, identify opportunities, and support evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and patient satisfaction.
• Engage in professional development, shared governance, and support change initiatives to improve the practice environment.
• Develop productive relationships with team members and demonstrate cultural competence, safety awareness, and effective communication.
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff, including preceptorship, and foster an environment of continuous learning.
• Apply the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, formulate care goals, and ensure comprehensive documentation.
• Minimum 6 months of RN experience required; BSN preferred; oncology experience and IV skills are advantageous.
• Assess patient data, demonstrate clinical judgment, and maintain physical stamina for patient care activities.

Licensure and Certifications

Current Pennsylvania RN license required; national certification preferred. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Must have valid CPR, Act 34 clearance, and multistate licensure if applicable.
