Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the complete functionality (safety, environmental compliance, quality, customer service and quantity/output) of a Production Crew, spanning the manufacturing process between Feedstock Receiving and Finished Goods Loading. This position is responsible to lead trainings, directs, coordinates, and supervises department activities in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring that all employees Operational and Safety programs are being followed.

Responsibilities Of This Role'

  • Ensure all Employees are properly oriented and trained to accomplish assigned tasks successfully, without exposure, incident or injury and within all legally mandated or internally prescribed environmental compliance limits.
  • Report promptly all incidents involving safety and health or environmental non-compliance, and actively participate in the investigation, root cause determination and elimination of further exposure for any employee.
  • Conduct routine active Crew maintenance and review of key performance indicators (KPI's) as they relate to safety and health, always striving to improve performance.
  • Understand all processes and product specifications/requirements deemed necessary to meet customer and cost expectations.
  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising safety, quality or integrity.
  • Exhibit behavior to the team that promotes and recognizes importance around conformance to production schedules.
  • Provide the necessary audit and coaching daily via review of individual Employee process intervention assessments (Quick JHA), communication between Supervisor and Employees, with the intention of eliminating all exposures for workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Exhibit behavior to the Crew that promotes and recognizes importance around conformance to production schedules (i.e. promises made to Customers around availability of material).
  • Communicate sense of urgency and priority to the Crew with an emphasis that work must be done safely, fully-compliant, as expected by and promised to the Customer, in a cost-effective/profitable manner.
  • Actively coach Employees to identify strengths and weaknesses of employees for benefit of all
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Experience Required

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum Three (3) years applied experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong appreciation for and demonstration of results around what motivates people
  • Strong sense of personal prioritization around safety, compliance, quality, customer & quantity
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment and lockout/tag out.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating man lifts, etc.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely work on high platforms using fall protection when required.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability to look at the large picture and performing root cause analysis.
  • Able to develop contingencies for problems that arise while understanding the consequences of the options.
  • Proficient using basic and intermediate mathematical computations for problem solving.
  • Competence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work is performed primarily in the plant manufacturing environment. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, greet/embrace, talk and hear. Verbal and written communication with employee groups and plant stakeholders is a frequent expectation. The employee must have high mobility and dexterity due to expanse of operations and be able to climb stairs, walk long distances.

  • Climbing several flights of stairs and
  • Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50)
  • Walking up to two (2) or more miles per
  • Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from -20 to +100
  • Standing for extended periods of
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Using hand and power

Compensation

Full Time "non-exempt" status

Shift Hours: 12-hour shift work

Overtime is paid where applicable

Hourly Pay Range: $33.65 - $43.26/hour

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 ("CA Pay Transparency Law"). Base pay information is based on market location.
