Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I to join our team. The role focuses on operating a stamping press, handling changeovers, and loading steel coils while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will perform routine quality checks, use a small overhead crane, and work from 1st shift with opportunities for overtime. Excellent pay, benefits, and a supportive manufacturing environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Stamping press experience required.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• English proficiency (speak, read, write).
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run mechanical metal stamping press.
• Conduct changeovers.
• Load and thread steel coils.
• Operate small overhead crane (pendant controlled).
• Understand basic stamping press controls.
• Troubleshoot to maintain production efficiency.
• Perform shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements.
• Perform quality checks.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors.
• Other duties as assigned.
