Job summary

Home Chef seeks a Production Lead for the 1st shift in Bedford Park, IL. Shift runs 6:30 AM–3:30 PM with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. You will guide production associates through portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Lead the line events, set up tables per SOPs, monitor targets, and coordinate with the supervisor and warehouse to maintain smooth operations. This role emphasizes GMP, labeling accuracy, and waste control.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production associates on a line or table.
• Knowledge of GMP, safety procedures, and quality controls.
• Familiarity with SOPs for portioning, bagging, and shipping.

Responsibilities

• Obtain the daily production plan and targets from the supervisor and set up portioning, meal bagging, and shipping lines.
• Collaborate with the supervisor to receive daily production plans and ensure on-time order completion.
• Communicate targets and performance to production associates and monitor adherence to targets.
• Ensure associates follow Home Chef policies; escalate concerns to the Production Supervisor.
• Coordinate with warehouse to plan for shortages and communicate exact needs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain SOPs, ensure correct labeling and packaging, and verify ingredient readiness hourly.
• Oversee waste reduction, FIFO, and proper labeling; promote GMP and safety practices.
• Supervise associates, manage pace, resolve conflicts, and ensure line integrity.
• Document counts and follow inventory procedures; ensure proper storage and labeling.
