Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Production Engineer 1 to contribute to the continuous improvement of HVAC manufacturing processes, from fabrication through assembly. You will support engineering changes, drive cost reductions, and mentor technicians while leading cross-functional teams on capital projects and new product introductions.

The role emphasizes practical problem solving, structured work, and coordination with Design Engineers to sustain and improve equipment and tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, electronics or systems engineering.
• 0–2 years minimum experience in production/manufacturing engineering.
• HVAC or automotive/appliance industries preferred.
• MS Office and AutoCAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Establish continuous improvement goals and executes action plans.
• Utilize lean manufacturing methods to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality, workflow improvements.
• Assist on 8D, FMEA, and Kaizen activities.
• Work with Design Engineers to revise HVAC product machines and tooling designs.
• Provide manufacturing technical support to Design Project teams.
• Document product designs with cost analyses, drawings and engineering change requests.
• Assist in redesigning internal components to improve long-term system quality, efficiency and cost.
• Develop engineering solutions through root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Participate on cross functional teams to launch product/assembly line modifications and improvements.
• Develop project schedules for existing product launches or design modifications.
• Assist in developing new suppliers for manufacturing equipment and improving uptime, efficiency and quality.
• Guide technicians and junior staff.
• Report status of work to the team.
