Job summary

Daikin Comfort in Texas is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Engineering department and production by maintaining product specifications, BOMs and change notices. You will help resolve production equipment issues and assist with testing, documentation and continuous improvements.

You will work with CAD tools, help set up equipment, track downtime, and ensure safety while delivering high-quality, on-time manufactured products in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing engineering theory and processes.
• Proficient in reading drawings and work instructions.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• HVAC knowledge preferred.
• Excellent CAD skills with SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
• Strong MS Office and reporting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support production to resolve equipment and process issues.
• Provide daily area support for repairs, installations and maintenance.
• Lead diagnostics for production issues on the shop floor.
• Develop methods to prevent and remediate equipment issues and hazards.
• Document engineering specifications, BOMs, COs and deviations.
• Create or update CAD drawings and specifications.
• Assist with tests, prototypes, data collection.
• Coordinate testing with regulatory agencies.
• Assist Engineering team as needed.
• Track downtime data and prioritize corrective actions.
• Set up production equipment and improve up-time.
• Document PM plans and evaluate effectiveness.
• Develop cost-saving process improvements.
• Maintain equipment documentation.
• Support development of new processes and tooling.
• Define critical spare parts quarterly.
• Inspect equipment and processes for flaws and areas for improvement.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and align systems.
• Design improvements and document changes with CAD/prints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
