Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Production Cook who will efficiently prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold items for meals and events, following Sodexo's culinary standards. The role emphasizes food safety, teamwork, and consistent quality in a fast-paced kitchen.

The position is part-time at our Atlas Roland Park Rehab & HealthCare Center, with varied shifts including mornings, afternoons, some weekends/holidays. Previous kitchen experience is valued; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality food service.
• Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
