Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Fontana, CA is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Associate for day shift. Base pay is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, with overtime potential, and benefits start day one. This role requires safe operation of power tools, measuring, and adherence to quality standards in a manufacturing setting.

You will work with hand tools, banding equipment, and nail guns, read tapes, and lift up to 50 pounds. Prior manufacturing experience and flexibility with overtime are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 1 year related manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of 1 year operating manufacturing machinery/equipment.
• Good communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Experience with hand tools, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to read a tape measure and use measuring gauges.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Safely operate power tools including electric and pneumatic.
• Band and clear lines; place products in outside racks.
• Mark part numbers and attach identification tags.
• Provide cost-saving ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects per Quality Systems.
• Read schedules, use a tape measure, and work with the team.
• Overtime may be assigned as needed.

Base pay rate is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Day Shift Hours: 4:00AM - 12:30PM, hours may vary depending on operations.

This is a position with the potential of overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
• Safely operating a variety of power tools including electric and pneumatic
• Banding and clearing all lines and placing products in outside racks
• Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts.
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules
• Team player and keeping safety first
• May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader
• Willing/able to work overtime

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• A minimum of one year operating manufacturing machinery and/or equipment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns
• Able to use of measuring gauges
• Able to read a tape measure
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

The US pay range for this full-time position is $20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO.

Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.
