Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a hands-on team member for our Atwater, CA production facility. The role focuses on assembly, labeling, and packing sub-assemblies into final products, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will read tape measures, assist with hemming and material relocation using cranes/forklifts, and support continuous improvement efforts. Overtime may be required based on orders and seasonality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• Basic Microsoft knowledge.
• Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes and related equipment preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continuously.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies or final products using sewing, cutting, clipping, and hooking.
• Affix labels and packaging to products.
• Visually inspect for defects per quality standards.
• Pack finished goods for shipping.
• Monitor production progress on schedule boards.
• Report equipment or material discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with hemming and relocating finished materials using cranes and forklifts.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $18.50 per hour

Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (hours may vary depending on operations)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out tasks as directed by the department supervisor or team lead.
• Engage in the assembly process, utilizing techniques such as sewing, cutting, clipping, and hooking to transform raw materials into sub-assemblies or final product.
• Affix labels and tags to products and their packaging appropriately.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to quality standards
• Prepare finished goods for shipping by packing them effectively.
• Monitor production progress on schedule boards.
• Report any equipment or material discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety in the workplace.
• Assist with hemming and the relocation of finished materials to trucks, utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Serve as a positive role model consistent with Cornerstone Building Brands Mission, Vision and Core Values
• Provide cost saving suggestions and ideas to improve production and eliminate waste
• Must be willing/able to work overtime
• Must be able to read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules
• Willing to learn and take on additional tasks as assigned
• Team player and keeping safety first

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a related area is preferred
• Must have basic Microsoft knowledge
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
