Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Shelbyville, IN is seeking a driven production associate to operate CNC machines, read tape measures, and maintain quality in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will work 5:00 am - 1:30 pm, with overtime as needed, and contribute to safety, waste reduction, and teamwork while supporting a wide range of fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow posted schedules.
• Experience in a related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC controlled machines (presses, lasers, rolling mills) in a fast-paced production setting with safety and quality emphasis.
• Utilize scanning equipment and inspect work visually for defects.
• Provide cost-saving ideas to improve production and reduce waste.
• Willing to work overtime and learn additional tasks as assigned.
• Be a team player and keep safety first.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $18.25 per hour

Shift Hours: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm, hours may vary depending on operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate various CNC controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, rolling mills in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and quality
• Utilize scanning equipment
• Inspect work visually for defects according to quality standards
• Serve as a positive role model consistent with Cornerstone Building Brands Mission, Vision and Core Values
• Provide cost saving suggestions and ideas to improve production and eliminate waste
• Must be willing/able to work overtime
• Must be able to read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules
• Willing to learn and take on additional tasks as assigned
• Team player and keeping safety first

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a related area is preferred
• Must have basic Microsoft knowledge
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
