Job summary

Horizon3 is seeking a practical Product & Privacy Counsel to partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, GTM, and Operations. The role focuses on product counseling and privacy, guiding new products, features, and regulatory compliance while scaling Horizon3’s global privacy program.

The ideal candidate will combine legal judgment with technical empathy, independently advising on risk-based solutions in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 4+ years of relevant legal experience in product/technology and privacy.
• Experience advising SaaS, cybersecurity, software, or tech businesses.
• Knowledge of GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
• Ability to understand technical products, data flows, APIs, and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day legal partner to Product and Engineering on new products, features, integrations, and product changes.
• Provide product and privacy counseling throughout the lifecycle, from design to launch and operation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate DPAs and other privacy terms.
• Advise on privacy notices, data processing, and cross-border data transfers.
• Develop scalable playbooks and self-service resources to empower teams while maintaining guardrails.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate legal requirements into practical controls.
