Job summary

Progress Software Corporation is seeking a qualified Product Counsel to advise on product design, development and release, marketing, data protection, security and compliance for our software and cloud offerings. This hybrid role will work between your home office and either our Burlington MA headquarters or Raleigh NC office.

You will partner with product management, engineering, design, product marketing, support and operations, ensuring legal soundness while enabling growth across

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree and bar admission.
• Minimum 5 years' in-house product counsel experience in technology.
• Experience with software, SaaS and cloud offerings.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to interface with product managers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance teams to provide counsel on product development and releases.
• Advise on lifecycle, regulatory and compliance issues across design, development, marketing and distribution.
• Support sales cycles: drafts and negotiates customer, partner, and vendor agreements.
• Review advertising and marketing materials and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide training to the legal team and internal stakeholders.
