Job summary

Meijer Great Lakes is seeking a store team member who will deliver outstanding customer service and help lead daily operations. You will assist with scheduling, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate pricing, stock, and cleanliness across the department.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly, lift and move items as needed, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment while following food safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engagement with customers and peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Creative thinking and the ability to influence others.
• Rapport-building and a positive attitude to drive repeat business.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling products.
• Experience executing plans and maintaining Meijer standards.

Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience and checkout flow.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching team members to meet and exceed sales goals and training requirements.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Assist with department scheduling to improve engagement, service, and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness and proper rotation according to dating policies.
• Guide team on food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and displays where applicable.
• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive Meijer culture and environment.
• Operate registers and perform cash handling as needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period-end inventories and other duties as assigned.
