Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers, including checkout.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily work tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching teammates to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Supports training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Assists department scheduling with leadership to boost engagement and sales.
• Ensures product freshness through rotation and dating policy adherence.
• Guides the team on food safety standards and safe work practices.
• Leads ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Promotes Meijer culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operates a register and cash handling when needed; uses powered equipment where applicable.
• Participates in period-end inventories to help meet goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as required.
