Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Produce Inspector II in Port Orange, FL. The role involves daily inspections of incoming deliveries and inventory to ensure produce meets quality specs.

You will decide to accept or reject produce in line with PACA laws, collaborating with the warehouse team to maintain safety and minimize returns. The position runs Sunday through Thursday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, with a starting pay of $25 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Min 2 years experience in produce or other perishable receiving and inspection.
• Working knowledge of USDA Specs, Grades and Standards.
• Working knowledge of PACA laws.
• Completion of US Foods Produce Inspector Course (within 60 days of hire).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fresh produce and inventory in warehouses to ensure quality.
• Make acceptance or rejection decisions following PACA-compliant procedures.
• Maintain inspection records and coordinate with warehouse management.
• Verify Purchase Order quantities and inspect inbound perishable loads.
• Inspect inbound trucks for signs of pests/rodents before unloading.
• Document temperatures and report violations; ensure proper rotation of inventory.
• Prepare daily dump/damage reports and communicate with supervisor.
