US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Produce Inspector II to perform daily inspections of incoming deliveries and inventory to ensure quality according to established specifications.

You will decide to accept or reject produce following PACA laws and collaborate with warehouse teams to maintain food safety and minimize returns. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and 2 years in produce or perishable receiving; proficiency in Microsoft Office and the US Foods Inspector Course within 60

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Min 2 years experience in produce or perishable receiving and inspection.
• Must understand USDA specs, grades and standards.
• PACA laws knowledge required.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.
• Completion of US Foods Produce Inspector Course within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
• Team-player and adaptable to evolving business.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fresh produce to ensure quality according to specifications.
• Perform daily inspections of all incoming deliveries and inventory in coolers.
• Decide to accept or reject produce per PACA guidelines.
• Maintain inspection records and coordinate with warehouse management.
• Collaborate on dumps, damages and re-work decisions with replenishment lead.
• Communicate issues to warehouse manager and replenishment lead; advise on dump/repackaging.
• Verify PO quantities and inspect quality for inbound perishable loads.
• Inspect inbound trucks for signs of pests before unloading.
• Ensure SOPs for receiving, storage, and shipping are followed.
• Document temperatures of inbound loads and report violations.
• Check for proper rotation of inventory and daily quality inspections.
• Pull outdated produce from slots; complete daily dump/damage reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
