Job summary

Smart Foodservice Stores in Boca Raton, FL is hiring a Produce Inspector. Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm. Starting pay: $23.50/hour.

You will ensure produce quality from supplier through warehouse to customers and support food-safety processes. Responsibilities include daily inspections, acceptance/rejection decisions under PACA laws, temperature checks, PO quantity verification, and collaboration with warehouse staff on dumps and damages.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Min 2 years experience in produce or other perishable receiving and inspection.
• US Foods PACA laws knowledge required.
• Completion of US Foods Produce Inspector Course within 60 days of hire.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand/sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fresh produce for quality against specifications.
• Perform daily inspections of inventory in coolers.
• Reject or accept produce at receiving per PACA rules.
• Withdraw non-conforming produce from inventory.
• Maintain temperature and lot records; report violations.
• Coordinate with warehouse and replenishment on dumps, damages, and rework.
