Job summary

City of New York’s NYCHA procurement team seeks a Procurement Analyst to oversee daily purchasing operations and guide staff on processes, supplier relations, and workflow management. The role involves prioritizing workloads, reviewing requisitions, and ensuring compliance with standards and budgetary constraints.

The position requires a foundational degree with related procurement experience; eligible candidates may have a mix of education and work experience as outlined in the city

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with six months professional procurement experience or related field.
• Associates degree and 18 months of procurement/negotiation experience.
• Four-year high school diploma and 2.5 years of procurement experience.
• Combination of education and experience per NYCS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations of borough purchasing unit ensuring efficient, compliant procurement.
• Train and guide staff on procurement processes and supplier relations.
• Assign, monitor, and prioritize workload to ensure timely purchase orders and requisitions.
• Review requisitions to determine appropriate purchasing methods and meet operational needs.
• Coordinate with internal departments and stakeholders on priorities and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness.
