Job summary

The NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Procurement Analyst to support borough purchasing operations, procure goods and services, and coordinate with departments to meet procurement priorities.

The role involves overseeing purchasing activities, guiding staff, reviewing requisitions, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, while facilitating cost-effective and timely procurement across boroughs.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and six months of satisfactory full-time professional experience in procurement or related fields.
• Associate degree and 18 months of experience in procurement or contract management.
• Four-year high school diploma and 2.5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Combination of education and experience that meets the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of borough purchasing unit and ensure efficient procurement.
• Train and guide staff on procurement processes, systems, and supplier relations.
• Assign, monitor, and prioritize workload for timely processing of requisitions and POs.
• Review requisitions to determine appropriate purchasing methods and meet needs.
• Coordinate with internal departments and stakeholders on procurement priorities.
• Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to support cost savings.
• Maintain purchasing records and reports for management review.
