Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) is seeking a Process Risk Senior Associate (Insurance) to help clients understand and address business risks, focusing on risk, compliance and controls across financial services. You’ll contribute to planning, testing, reporting, and delivering internal control assessments and SOX-related services.

Responsibilities include engagement planning, supervising staff, developing audit work plans, and applying COSO/IPPF knowledge to evaluate findings and guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a professional services firm or Risk/Internal Audit.
• Experience with insurance organizations preferred; CIA, CPA, Six Sigma, or related licenses preferred.
• SOX Section 404 experience and internal controls experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review operational, financial, and administrative processes to assess risk, internal control, and overall process effectiveness.
• Understand clients’ business, objectives, strategy, operations, processes, IT systems, service providers and controls.
• Participate in client engagements from start to completion, including planning, executing, and reporting.
• Support engagement Manager/Senior Manager in project management, budgets, timelines, and status reporting.
• Supervise, train, and mentor Associates and Interns on engagements, provide feedback.
• Develop and execute internal audit workplans and control test procedures.
• Apply knowledge of risk trends to evaluate findings and develop recommendations.
• Work with project team and client to deliver services per expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.
