Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) seeks a Process Risk Manager (Insurance) to help clients understand and address business risks across risk, compliance, and controls within a dynamic, growth-oriented firm. You will work with insurance clients to strengthen controls and optimize processes from day one.

You’ll lead risk reviews, manage SOX programs, and mentor staff while collaborating with client teams to drive measurable improvements and trusted advisory support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience in a consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level.
• Experience serving insurance organizations, preferably property and casualty carriers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, or third-party administrators.
• CPA/CISA/CISSP/CIA or CISM certification preferred.
• SOX compliance and internal audit experience preferred.
• Experience with financial, operational, and system audits and business process control reviews.

Responsibilities

• Review operational, financial, and technology processes to assess business risk, internal controls, and process efficiency.
• Lead reviews across the insurance operating model (underwriting, policy administration, distribution, billing, claims, actuarial, regulatory reporting).
• Manage SOX and internal control over financial reporting programs for clients.
• Manage internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing engagements for insurance clients.
• Develop and test risk controls and leverage analytics to deliver efficient client services.
• Maintain strong client relationships and work with management at all levels to develop risk assessments and recommendations.
• Oversee engagement management, including quality reviews, scheduling, and budgets; mentor staff and support business development.
