Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) seeks an IT Risk Senior Associate (Insurance) to help clients understand and address IT risk within risk, compliance and controls engagements. You will work on IT internal audit, control assessments, and risk programs across insurers and financial services clients.

You’ll analyze IT environments, design and test controls, and support implementation of risk mitigation. Travel may be required as part of client engagements and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, or related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience with a professional services firm or internal audit.
• Experience with insurance organizations preferred (P&C carriers or related participants).
• CISA, CISSP, CISM, CPA license preferred.
• Understanding of IT risk management and cybersecurity standards (COBIT, NIST CSF).
• Experience assessing IT controls (IT general controls, application controls) for internal audit, SOX, or risk management.
• Experience assessing ERP configuration and controls (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client engagements from start to finish, including IT internal audit and control assessments.
• Understand clients' industry, objectives, operations, IT systems, and data flows, including insurance workflows.
• Execute test procedures for IT control designs and operating effectiveness.
• Support assessments of technology supporting insurance operations (policy admin, underwriting, claims, billing, reinsurance).
• Contribute to innovative problem solving to improve project delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other Grant Thornton service lines.
• Travel as needed.
