Job summary

Volt is hiring a Process Engineering Technician in Richardson, Texas. The role supports engineering builds, DOE trials, and prototype assembly, operating and programming mold, grind, saw, laser, and coating tools in a fast-paced semiconductor setting.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience and 2+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, with strong troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high-tech environment.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and ability to work directly on equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering builds, DOE trials and prototype assembly lots in a semiconductor environment.
  • Program and operate assembly equipment including mold, grind, saw, laser and coating tools.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, changeovers and basic maintenance to keep tools production-ready.
  • Collect process data and support root cause analysis and yield improvements.
  • Document issues, process updates and changes through logs and work instructions.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and production personnel.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.

Job description

You deserve a job you love! Volt is immediately hiring for Process Engineering Technicians in Richardson, Texas.

Process Engineering Technician, you will:
  • Support engineering builds, DOE trials, and prototype assembly lots in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Program and operate assembly equipment, including mold, grind, saw, laser, and coating tools
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and drive timely resolution
  • Perform preventative maintenance, changeovers, and basic equipment maintenance to ensure tools remain production-ready
  • Collect process data and support root cause analysis and yield improvement activities
  • Document issues, process updates, and changes through logs, work instructions, and shift pass-downs
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and production personnel
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times

Full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.

Location: Richardson, Texas.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a similar high-tech environment
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to work directly on equipment to resolve issues in real time
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred experience includes:
  • Semiconductor assembly processes such as die attach, wire bond, molding, singulation, wafer thinning/saw, die pick, and related processes
  • Prototype, NPI (New Product Introduction), or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Basic understanding of SPC, DOE, root cause analysis, and yield improvement methodologies
Work Environment:
  • Cleanroom environment requiring ESD protection and PPE
  • Shift work and extended hours may be required to support prototype and customer demand
  • Hands-on work with manufacturing equipment in a semiconductor assembly setting
Salary:
