Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated is offering a Summer 2027 Process Engineering Intern opportunity at our Belcamp, MD manufacturing facility. You will support continuous improvement initiatives, standardize work processes, and help ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality food ingredients.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, with strong communication skills and a hands-on, safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, and data-driven analysis.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement and operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing areas to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Assist with engineering projects from concept through implementation, including data collection, analysis, testing, and documentation.
• Update and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, batch records, equipment information, and process workflows.
• Participate in plant continuous improvement programs (5S, visual management, root cause analysis).
• Assist with operator training and deployment of process improvements on the manufacturing floor.
