Job summary

Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, seeks a Process Engineer to support the pilot plant for small-molecule API manufacturing, focusing on Kilo Lab and High Potency Lab operations. You will design, scale-up, and optimize reactors, containment, and unit operations while maintaining cGMP compliance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in chemical engineering or related discipline with 1–4 years of API manufacturing or development experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor visas.
• Experience with kilo-scale equipment, HPAPI containment, and cGMP is preferred and aligns with the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assessment and support for API production in Kilo Lab and High Potency Lab.
• Evaluate scale-up feasibility and reactor fit using kinetic, mass-transfer, and heat-transfer analyses.
• Design, test, and install new equipment to meet evolving reaction needs.
• Engineer kilo-scale reactor systems and containment strategies for HPAPI operations, including isolators and glove boxes.
• Optimize crystallization, distillation, extraction, and isolation steps while tracking impurities and mass balance.
• Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; author/review technical reports and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate with HSE, QA, Tech Services, Development, Operations, Automation, and Manufacturing on project plans.
• Develop timelines for project work and drive cross-functional execution.
