Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Mobile, AL seeks an entry‑level process design engineer with a strong foundation in chemical, mechanical, biochemical, or petroleum engineering. You will work on routine designs under supervision, develop conceptual layouts and cost estimates, and produce detailed design calculations for construction.

The role emphasizes safe practices, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and travel for site work or meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration strongly preferred.
• Up to 1 year of relevant industrial experience in process design engineering.
• Basic knowledge of chemical/biochemical process design and related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine designs of less complex engineering assignments under direct supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient approaches.
• Produce estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Create detail design calculations and sketches for construction materials.
• Ensure designs use construction materials efficiently and meet client expectations.
• Assist in resolving routine layout and detailing problems with design teams.
• Coordinate with design leaders from other disciplines for information flow.
• Travel as required for on-site work, meetings, or training.
