Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking an entry-level Engineering Assistant for routine chemical/process engineering tasks in Mobile, AL.

You will work under direct supervision, assisting in design calculations, drawings, and studies to determine efficient approaches to problems. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a BS in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering with a 2.7+ GPA, proficient in MS Office, and possesses good communication skills.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a BS in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering; GPA 2.7 or above.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Good verbal and written communication.
Familiarity with chemical/process engineering calculations (mass/energy balances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, etc.) is beneficial.
Familiarity with chemical engineering simulation (Aspen Plus, PRO/II, ChemCad) and hydraulic analysis software (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, SiNet) is beneficial.
Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or Microstation) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Perform routine engineering tasks under direct supervision.
Assist in producing design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches.
Assist in developing conceptual process designs and studies to identify simple, efficient solutions.
Assist in preparing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
Assist engineers and designers to support project goals for safety, cost, schedule and quality.
