Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc seeks an entry-level process engineer to perform complete design tasks for less complex projects and assist with larger assignments under supervision. You will promote safety and apply best practices in design, with support from a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a bachelor or master in chemical, mechanical, biochemical, or petroleum engineering, plus 1+ year of relevant industrial experience. EIT preferred; PE/CPIP a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• 1+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.
• EIT registration strongly preferred; PE/CPIP preferred upon eligibility.
• Foundational knowledge of process safety and its application to design.
• Basic familiarity with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, Aspen Plus Dynamics, PRO/II, DYNSIM, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, WinGEMS, ProMax).
• Basic CAD knowledge with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete design of less complex process engineering assignments.
• Assist in design of larger and more complex chemical/process engineering projects under close supervision.
• Promote safety culture and apply safety concepts to process design.
• Check calculations for codes, standards, and good engineering practice.
• Support drafting team to resolve layout and detailing issues.
• Assist in field data collection and construction support.
