Job summary

PSI Pax, Inc. in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Process Engineer to lead process optimization studies, plant trials, and evaluations of chemical manufacturing processes.

You will develop design recommendations for improvements and support capital projects while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams. The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, solid communication, and the ability to work both independently and across cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 1–5 years of process engineering or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with chemical manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
• Apply chemical engineering principles to troubleshooting, optimization, and design.
• Understanding of Process Safety and involvement in PHA is preferred.
• Analyze operating problems and develop practical technical solutions.
• Knowledge of statistical design and evaluation methods.
• Strong communication across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and leadership.
• TiCl4 and TiO2 manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to work a salaried day-shift with off-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform process optimization studies, plant trials, and evaluations of existing chemical manufacturing processes.
• Develop process design recommendations for improvements and capital projects.
• Support engineering assignments for capital projects and process improvements.
• Evaluate technical problems, select engineering methods, and develop practical design recommendations.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Process Safety activities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and deliverables.
• Define engineering approaches and plan/schedule engineering work.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians.
• Support project activities within schedule and cost requirements.
• Apply maintenance concepts to troubleshoot equipment and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and plant leadership.
• Initiate process improvement ideas and convert viable opportunities into projects.
• Support continuous improvement aligned with plant objectives.
• Maintain SHE policy and Process Safety compliance.
